Welcome to the Homeschool Unlocked podcast, the show that helps parents see homeschooling as a unique opportunity. So forget fear. You can inspire. You can guide your child. Homeschool Unlocked. It's not school. It's life. Hello, Homeschool Unlocked family. I just we're opening up and getting ready. My husband decides to tell me that his favorite team is destined for the Super Bowl this year because they've done what? They've won two games in a row. Technically, it's consecutive, right? That's a winning streak. That's a winning streak, technically. That's right. Compared to the previous losing streak that was like five in a row. It's two in a row, my love. That's right. What is it? Keep the winning streak going. What is that called? That's called win.Keep the winning streak going means don't ever lose anymore. That is like the cup is not just half full, it is overflowing. It's overflowing. It's moving toward the direction of overflowing. So at one point, it was empty, but it's getting filled. And we're not overflowing. We're nowhere near overflowing. We're not even past halfway in the cup, but we're trending in the right direction. We won back to the games. That's right. And we come to you today with that same optimism. I like it.Of being optimistic. Correct. Because unlike the Dolphins, we have God right on our side.Yes, we do. And he's already promised us his blessings. He's given us his son.I like it. Love it. And so we have the joy of coming to you today.Homeschool Unlocked family, if we have not introduced ourselves, my name is Jesus Aviles. This is my queen, Monica Aviles. And we love you guys.We thank you for the opportunity of opening up your radio stations, putting power to the your car radio, whatever you're doing. Giving us your time and attention and we greatly appreciate it. Yeah, I mean, you could be listening to us on your Walkman for all we know. That's right. That's right. You I would recommend you listen to us both on your car, in your iPad, and your phone simultaneously.Because you might miss something. Is that how it works? No. Okay.Well, we may not know all the tech things about tech, but we do know a lot about homeschooling. We've been enjoying this whole homeschool journey for 21 years. And we have six kids. And so if you are new, maybe you are with a newborn or you have a toddler. Excellent. Maybe you have a 10 year old, you've never homeschooled, you're not really even sure if it's for you.Yeah, correct. And so in that, that if that's your case, you've tuned into the right to the right people. Homeschool Unlocked where it's not school is life. That's how we close our episodes, by the way. Yes, that deep. For those of you for those of you that decide to as soon as we finish our episode to switch over to the next podcast and never heard our closing, it's it's not school. It's life like that real deep. And we're having a good old time here. But we are excited to pray with you today. We are actually in the midst of a very full and fun week. We have to our boys starting with their basketball, we have Mila, who is a senior in her play and, and it's a full week. And so we thought, we're going to take some time and pray.Because number one, that's the best thing that we can do is offer you a strength in Christ. And number two, because we need it. Yes.So what we're gonna do is we've done this before in the past, we've kind of just prayed through scripture, I'm going to be reading us some scripts, I'm going to go through a Psalm one. I mean, it only has six verses, but it gives us plenty of opportunity to just simply pray and just to think. And what you can do, obviously, while you're listening, you can pause at any particular moment and continue the prayer by that in terms of when we transition off doesn't need to mean you need to transition is also so if you don't mind my love, I'll start and then I'll pause and then you can pray and I'll I'll join you at that point.Yeah, right. You're holding the Bible you're reading. So I'll just chime in.You got it. Psalm one verse one, blessed is the man who does not walk in the council of the wicked, or stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of markers, but his delight is in the law of the Lord. And in his law, he meditates day and night.Yes, Lord, I thank you so much that we are called blessed Lord, we are set apart, we are yours, we are your beloved and we are treasured Lord, I thank you that you have pulled us from the darkness, Lord, we were those scoffers, we were those markers. And you have changed us, you've given us a new name and a new path. I thank you so much that in the midst of all the darkness, Lord, and we do live in a dark world. You have shined your light you your son has come into this world and the darkness has not overcome his light who he is his truth. Lord, we love you, Lord, we thank you, Lord, you said here that a blessed man, Lord, a blessed person or delights in the law and meditates on that law, Lord. The law has a specific purpose, Lord, it informs you who it informs us Lord who you are.And Lord, thank you, Lord, for allowing us to understand your mind for revealing yourself to us so that we can understand Lord how to walk, how to think, how to see things, our worldview, our perspective, engaging in patience and prayer, Lord, as we just simply grow and continue to walk, Lord, you ask us to delight in that Lord, so we do that. Verse three, he is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields his fruit in season, and whose leaf does not wither, whatever he does, prospers. Lord, I just thank you so much that your son fulfilled the law.I thank you that he in word and thought and deed and every aspect of his life, he was blameless, without blemish. I thank you that that is my confidence. And that is the confidence of all of us who believe in your son.I thank you that we are not only planted, but we are thriving Lord, I thank you that you have abundance for us Lord, I thank you for how you grow us Lord, not only with your blessings and provisions Lord, but you grow our character so that we can enjoy those blessings and that we can steward those blessings and that we can be a blessing to others. We now have verse four, now we're hitting the contrast. Verse four, not so the wicked, they're like shaft that the wind blows away. Therefore, the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. Amen. Amen.We are the righteous. We are the righteous. Lord, we thank you Lord, because our righteousness, our right standing before you is not based on any effort that we've ever had any anticipated or future effort Lord.It all depends on the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. That's where our righteousness stands. Thank you that you go way back when to Abram, when you promised him land, nation, a people, and in that promise Lord, we know Jesus was in it.That one offspring Lord, that's referred to in Genesis 3. Lord, we love you because that's where our righteousness is Lord. It's in Jesus Christ and in that finished work. Amen.Verse six, it says here, for the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. And Lord, we just thank you for that. Lord, we thank you that you are for us in your son.Lord, we thank you so much for your patience, your never ending patience with us in your son, Christ Jesus. Lord, we thank you for your love for us. That is our boast. We pray that blessing over all families who are listening Lord, that they would also boast about your great love for them in Christ Jesus. Amen. And homeschool unlocked families.I just want to share a little something this week as we started driving around and all the games. And at one point I just thought, do my kids even realize like, are they even aware all the, all the sacrifices and all this stuff? And I just, it was just one of those moments where I'm like, Lord, you do not complain about me this way. You are so patient. And so God sees every wonderful thing that you do in his strength and that you do in love, even when your kids don't. And of course we're going to help our kids be more appreciative and contribute and be part of the team and realize that it's a whole team effort. But when they don't, rest assured that God does.He sees you. What you do matters. You are special. You are set apart and this world would not be the same without you. That is correct. The Lord wishes for no one to perish. So at the end of that particular verse in verse five, where it talks about the way of the wicked will perish. Lord, we pray for those that come to mind. We were one of those people. So we pray for your grace and your mercy. We thank you for the wonderful opportunity to talk to you guys this homeschool session. We wanted to really just, just pray, just pick a Psalm one, just pray, kind of just pray through it just a little bit, just to give you guys some encouragement as we ourselves head into a very busy week. But as the world or the nation or everybody who listens to this is probably hitting a very busy upcoming week, a weekend. So we love you guys. Forward this.Pray. Let us know what you need.
